Our Steps to buying a new home for both Ohio and Tennessee are designed to ensure your involvement through the entire building process. It doesn’t stop after you’re handed the keys to your new home, it continues through your ‘after move-in’ review. Ashford Homes provides quality built homes with values you can appreciate so you and your family can rest easy!
This 8-Step Program is designed to ensure your satisfaction before, during and after your home is built.
STEP 1: Choose Your “One-of-a-Kind” Home Design
Select a home from one of our many styles and sizes that best fits your needs and then customize your home to express your personal style.
STEP 2: Decide On Your Homesite
If you don’t already own your land, Ashford can provide you with a list of available home sites throughout Cumberland and surrounding counties. Once you’ve decided on the right homesite for you, an Ashford Representative will come to your homesite and determine lot characteristics and home placement.
STEP 3: Establish Your Cost
Sit down with your Ashford Representative and price out your dream home. Determine the most cost effective way to get what you want within your desired budget.
STEP 4: Secure Your Decision
Once you’ve decided on your home and homesite you secure your decision by signing a Purchase Agreement. This locks you into your sales price without worry of any increase of cost in materials and labor that Ashford could incur.
STEP 5: Obtain Your Financing
If you don’t already have pre-approval, Ashford along with a local financial institution can explain what finance program best fits your needs. Once you have applied for a loan and been pre-approved, Ashford will start construction of your new home.
STEP 6: Ashford Ensures Your Involvement
An Ashford Representative will meet with you bi-weekly at your homesite to ensure your satisfaction throughout the building process. In addition, there will be 4 scheduled meetings.
a. Pre-Construction: We believe you should be involved before we drive a single nail. So, you and your Ashford Team will go over the plans, visit the homesite, and review everything in detail before digging.
b. Pre-Drywall: You and your Ashford Team will walk through the home while it is at frame-stage with rough electrical, plumbing and HVAC in place. This will be your opportunity to make certain that everything is in the proper place and view the quality workmanship that goes into every Ashford Home.
c. Post-Drywall: You will be able to thoroughly walk your home after drywall is in place and examine drywall for nail pops, cracks and imperfections that you feel require attention.
d. New Home Demonstration: Shortly before closing your Ashford Team will do a walk-through with you of your new home. We will make sure you are comfortable with the operations of your new home and answer any questions you have. This is the time you give us the “thumbs-up” for move-in.
STEP 7: Pick Up Your Keys
At the completion of closing you will receive your keys and all your warranty information. It is the time you’ve been waiting for – move in and enjoy your new Ashford Home!
STEP 8: After You Move-In
Our commitment to you is just beginning. Ashford Homes Tennessee delivers a quality product and backs it up with great service and warranties.
a. 60-Day Home Review: The first 60 days will likely turn up small items that need to be addressed. At your New Home Demonstration you will receive a form we would like you to use to notate any of these items. We will contact you to review your list and schedule service.
b. 12-Month Drywall Inspection: Nail-pops and drywall cracks due to settlement of your home are a common experience. We will schedule a time to come in and touch these up.
c. 4-Year Structural Warranty: Every Ashford Home comes with a ten-year transferable structural warranty.
